Self-documentation: Listening and Writing
Self-documentation: Listening and Writing (Jiyeon Kim)
The pieces that make up your self are innumerable and they always change little by little. Participants perform self-documentation by listening to a piece of their daily life that they would like to share with others. Poetry, audio recordings, and streaming are recording tools for self-documentation. Once a day, through the process of listening and writing what participants have heard, important parts of their daily lives previously hidden are revealed and middle-aged women eventually contemplate the meaning of the self-documented records. We hope this to be an opportunity for everyone to discover parts of their daily lives that are connected as they listen to each other’s records.
